Leaf Light

November 2, 2010

I happen to love the shapes, colours and patterns of the myriad leaves to be found in our beautiful and bountiful world, so when I found these photographs at Plants Are The Strangest People, I had to share them – they are indeed “exceptionally pretty” – like a natural version of stained glass.  I’m reminded of a series of paintings I did of light filtering through leaves, of close-ups of leaves that were quite abstract, while realistic and of leaves fallen on the forest floor in dappled leaf light for a solo exhibition, “Grounded”.  Enjoy!  🙂

[Exceptionally] Pretty pictures: transmitted light
